With not many film songs happening for him nowadays, Sonu Niigaam has discovered an innovative way of earning some extra income on the side. I found out how!
My source reveals, "Just recently, Sonu had been invited as a special judge at a popular singing reality show. (Incidentally, when Sonu reached the sets, the main judge of the show known for his harsh comments was conspicuous by his absence.) Sonu came in wearing a pair of very fancy glasses. He shot the episode and when he was about to leave, he told the production manager that he must be paid Rs 10,000 as the rental charges for the glasses! Literally speechless, the production manager was left with no option but pay Sonu the demanded amount."
The source adds, "But what is surprising is, the very same evening, Sonu went in for the shoot of another reality show and made the same demands. Though the production manager agreed, the whole unit was having a hearty laugh at Sonu's chindigiri (stingy attitude) from the time he left the sets."
Sonu claims to have cut down on his film assignments and is concentrating more on non-film music to improve his voice quality and raise his standard of music. He is also giving upcoming singers gyaan on how to go about it. Well, Sonu, not a bad idea but it's high time you thought of a better source of income – or else you'll have to keep wearing rented stuff!
