‘Mega’ upsets for Praja Rajyam

Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi may not believe he erred in selection of candidates but the several upsets revealed the mood of the party seniors, including that of the president himself. They were clearly shocked and their facial expressions showed it.

Refusing to be quoted, several senior turncoats from other political parties, including former IAS officers expressed their regrets at the party general secretary Allu Aravind, having his way in over-ruling every other proposal and getting his own list cleared. Some others said the youngest and the most prominent star-face, ‘Powerstar’ Pawan Kalyan appeared to have been side-lined too.

Apart from Mr. Chiranjeevi himself losing in Palacole, other prominent losers were brother-in-law Aravind who lost the Anakapalli LS seat. Turncoats who lost include Rajya Sabha member C. Ramachandraiah and three sitting TDP MLAs Kala Venkata Rao, Kothapalli Subbarayudu and Kambala Jogulu. Sitting Congress MLAs who migrated to the Praja Rajyam but lost now are B. Veda Vyas, Vangaveeti Radhakrishna and Thota Trimurthulu.
