Neetu Chandra Red Hot sizzling

It’s also no secret that she’s playing a hot chick in her next Tamil venture, Teeratha Vilayattu Pillai (TVP). But what we didn’t know until recently is that Neetu found out during the shoot that there’s something hotter than her. We recently reported that the makers of TVP wanted to use Neetu’s sex appeal to highlight a steamy scene and hence, the director decided to put Neetu in a bathtub full of red chillies. Recounting her experience, the actress says, “We were filming the intro song in a studio in Mumbai. Director Thiru said that this song would be the highlight of the movie and this is what we would be using in the promos.” Neetu, quite excited by the racy number, was willing to give her 100 per cent. “Thiru told me that I had to soak in a bathtub that would be filled with dummy red chillies. But when we finally set up the bathtub, we realised that the fake chillies weren’t enough to fill the tub. So, Thiru told me that he would use real chillies. I was taken aback and wasn’t sure how to react,” she recalls. But, being the professional she is, she agreed and plunged into the tub that was filled with red chillies. “I literally felt hot,” she laughs. “The spice started acting up within a few minutes. But, I had to seduce Vishal! So, I would throw seductive looks at him and as soon as Thiru said cut, I would wipe away the tears. Finally, after the shot was over, I ran to the shower and soaked myself in a tub (thankfully, without chillies) for over two hours. It took me one whole day to get rid of the rashes I had developed.” But, Neetu says it was one helluva experience that she won’t forget easily.

Dil Raju ropes in a new girl for NTR

If the sources are to be believed, producer Dil Raju is planning to introduce a new heroine in his next production, Brindavanam. According to our sources, the film needs a face that looks relatively fresh.

Kajal forgets Ramcharan Favour

Hot actress Kajal has reportedly rejected the role in Ram Charan's upcoming film Orange. The reason is said to Kajal has joined the top league after the success Magadheera and the role offered to her was that of second heroine with a run-time of just 15 minutes. But Ramcharan is insisting on Kajal to that role and he even asked the director to extend her role further. Kajal's reaction on this is yet to be known.

The film Adurs starring Jr.NTR and Nayantara in the lead is all set to hit screens on December 18th. Sheela plays the second female lead. Jr.NTR will be seen in dual role in the film. I am ready to do all types of characters including glamour doll roles. I don’t think there is anything wrong in skin shows and acting in bikinis is not an offence. We have to accept every kind of role and wear every type of costumes, including bikinis for our survival in the industry. In fact, if I don’t do it, then some other girl will do it and take away my opportunities. Hence, it is inevitable for us girls in the industry to agree for skin shows.”

Jr NTR Answered Nagachaitanya

Nayantara's marriage rumours worry parents

She is one of the highest paid actresses in the south Indian film industry, but right now Nayantara is under parental surveillance, thanks to rumours of her marriage with dancing star Prabhu Deva.

According to sources, Prabhu Deva was at that time mourning the death of his 10-year-old son who was suffering from cancer and Nayantara had just split from actor Silambarrasan. Shriya Saran says no to soft drink ads

Chennai: Following the footsteps of Tamil actor Ajit, southern actress Shriya Saran too has decided not to endorse any soft drink brands.

“I did a soft drink ad some time back. Later, a mother came to me and said that her child started consuming more of that drink after seeing my ad. It made me measure my actions,” said Shriya, who teamed up with Tamil superstar Rajnikant in Sivaji: The Boss.

A soft drink ad fetches the actresses Rs.5-6 million and one just has to shoot for four-five days for the commercial, while for a movie one has to slog for months and the remuneration is not as good.

Apart from Tamil films, Shriya also featured in Hindi movies Awarapan and Mission Istaanbul.

Nagarjuna To Begin His Next Movie

Nagarjuna has put rumours to rest, that his film will not be releasing this year. On July 24th his next film with D. Shiva Prasad Reddy as the producer will start rolling. Nagarjuna had delivered a string of hits like Vikki Dada, Allari Alludu, Seetarama Raju, Nenunnanu, and much recently King from their banner.

The film will be released in December, the month that Nagarjuna has an attachment to. Kiran Kumar makes his debut as a director. So King will get busy from next month onwards. At the moment selection of the technical team is on.

Her debut film apart, Shruti’s busy composing the music for her home production, a remake of A Wednesday in Telugu and Tamil with Kamal playing the lead. “You can imagine how nervous I am as both the films will release within a gap of a few days. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Composing music was a different experience altogether and it was challenging working with dad,” she said.

But now several Latin American distributors, who saw the international version of Rakesh Roshan’s Kites, are stunned by Hrithik’s resemblance to Jesus Christ in the film. It’s been two weeks since the Bollywood film was showcased at the Cannes Film Festival, but the buzz around it still continues at the French Riviera. And, another thing, if the Mexican actress Barbara Mori has taken Bollywood by storm, Hrithik has done the same in Latin America. Foreign distributors were reportedly taken up by the searing intensity in his eyes, his lithe frame and Adonis-like tan. Some of them were heard commenting that Hrithik would be the ideal actor to play Christ in a western production.

Rakesh Roshan, who was present at Cannes, admits there was huge excitement among the foreign distributors who saw his international trailer. “A lot of people did mention that Hrithik’s looks are suited for the western market. But I didn’t catch the comment on him bearing a resemblance to Christ,’’ Rakesh said. “It was not possible for me to keep track of everything said and heard.’’

Manjula says Mahesh babu is a perfectionist

She belongs to one the most illustrious film families of Tollywood. With veteran actor Krishna for a father and current Tollywood heartthrob Mahesh Babu for a brother, it could have been easy for Manjula Swaroop to be overshadowed by their success. Yet, she has carved a niche for herself in the male dominated Telugu film industry. While her debut film Show bagged two national awards, Pokiri which was produced by her raked in more than Rs 60 crore and became the biggest hit of the year.

Manjula who has been producing films for six years has yet another unconventional film lined up — Kavya’s diary. The film has Charmee in the lead, and deals with the hardships of a working woman in an urban setting. But will a woman-oriented film work, especially since Tollywood has so far been dominated by hero-centric films? “Five years ago when I did Show, the Telugu audience was not ready for women-oriented movies. But more recently we’ve had films like Anasuya, Mantra and Arundati which did well at the box office,” Manjula says. The Telugu audience, she says, is probably ready for female oriented movies.

While Manjula has numerous hits to her credit, she feels that flops like Nani have helped her stay grounded. The sociology graduate now plans to remake James Bond with her brother in the lead.

While she is open to acting, she chooses parallel cinema to showcase her talent. However, when it comes to producing films, Manjula prefers to play it safe. “The audience here prefer entertainment. They can’t accept films where the hero is killed. They need a good potboiler. Even when Tamil films are remade in Telugu, the climax is altered to suit the audience taste,” she adds.

While it is common to see star sons turn actors in Tollywood, it is always different for the daughters. “In our society, daughters are more sheltered. Although I was offered lead roles, I had to turn them down due to objections from my father’s fans,” she reveals. Manjula who wanted to be a part of the film industry since the age of 15 was furious when she was told that fans looked upon her as a sister. “They didn’t want to see me in commercial cinema. We have to respect the audience’s sentiments, I guess,” she says adding that in retrospect she wouldn’t have been comfortable with acting in commercial films either.

Manjula, who has produced several films for her brother confesses that it is not an easy task. “When I am working with Mahesh, I have to be on my toes. He is a perfectionist. I discuss every story with him. When I am working with him, I just can’t relax,” she says.

Hansika is annoyed with reports in media circles about her partying with friends and forcing a producer to foot the bill. “I’d like to know how such baseless reports surface,” she asks. Classic Movies Vs. Digital Movies

Modern movie viewers want to see rapid-fire action, a simple plot and a lot of special effects. Back in the old days, movies had a complex and intelligent plot; in those days you judged a movie by how well the actors performed, how good the plot was; nowadays, people judge movies by the quantity of TNT used, the computer generated special effects used, the number of girls that are in the movie and let’s not forget that a good movie must have a plot as simple as it can be. I’m not saying that all modern movies are bad, but let’s be frank, most of them have these ingredients, and you can’t blame the producers because if the audience wants to see one of the mentioned, you have to give them that so that they can make a pretty buck.

Getting back to old movies, in those days, there weren’t any computers, no special effects; it came down to the actors, which in my opinion are the most important part in a movie. Let’s not forget that black and white movies have a special look which can’t be found in today’s computerized movies. It took hard work to make a movie back in the days, it took even years to make some of the movies in comparison to present, when movies are made on a regular basics. Some of you probably don’t like old movies; I have some piece of advice: try watching the colorized versions of some classic movies, you might change your mind about these movies; these movies have a lot to offer, give them a try, I can assure you that you won’t regret watching Gone With The Wind, for example.

All things considered, most of the old movies are of very high quality with the accent put on the actors not on the special effects which in those days were inexistent. Don’t get me wrong, some of today’s movies are great but most of them can’t be compared to the old movies like Alfred Hitchcock’s “ The Birds” or Ernst Lubitsch’s “Trouble In Paradise”.

Shriya has to kiss Vikram 17 times

At the recent audio launch of Kandasamy, the trailer of the movie was screened with the kissing scene featuring lead actors Shriya and Vikram. According to sources in the industry, when the scene was being shot with the two stars at MRC Nagar in the city, Shriya took 17 takes to get it right, before the director was finally satisfied.

Towards the end, the frustrated actress walked off the sets claiming she hadn’t been informed about this scene beforehand, and didn’t want to do any more of it. A lot of coaxing and persuasion by director Susi Ganesan and co-star Vikram, was required before Shriya returned to the shoot

Genelia impressed director Ghosh in 8 days

Genelia who proved her self as a talented heroine through her performance in the movies “Bommarillu”, “Dee”, “Ready”, “Sasirekha Parinayam” is now presently working in the Hindi film being directed by Ken Ghosh.

In this film Shahid Kapoor is playing the hero role and Genelia is acting opposite Shahid in the role of a heroine. Ken Ghosh complimented that the chemistry between these two is very good.

As of now, the film has completed its 8 days shooting and in these 8 days, the performance of Genelia impressed Ken a lot.

Talking in detail about this matter, he expressed that – “In the beginning we thought of Jiah Khan and later changed our decision and took Genelia. Frankly speaking, by selecting Genelia, the value of this movie rose high.
